Build A Blessing Events
A creative pause with intention, community, and a touch of magic
Build a Blessing events are inspired by “Grandmotherly spirit”..... Where everything she made tasted a little better and you can’t put your finger on it. If you have ever heard the secret ingredient was love, then you’ll find a lot of that ingredient permeating through a Build a Blessings Event. At these events, the secret ingredient is love, gratitude and the pause to just be.
The Invitation
These events are for free spirits, those seeking a meaningful creative experience, or anyone who’s a little weary and looking for self-care in a welcoming space. No matter your experience with art or creativity, joining a Build a Blessing floral event is a chance to slow down, nurture yourself, and bring a little floral blessing out into the world!

The Experience
Participants create a charming floral arrangement using seasonal flowers in a mason jar, with a rose quartz crystal resting at the bottom as a gentle reminder to just be. Good music, easy conversation, and bringing home your own floral piece to bless your space or the space of a loved one. This experience creates the pause for a shared nervous-system exhale and a moment to slow, smile, and enjoy the process.
The beauty is not only in the flowers but in taking a moment to slow down. This experience offers participants an opportunity to connect with themselves and share the "blessings" in a community.

Tonight I attended Blessings to Bloom’s Build a Blessing Event. What I thought would be a simple bouquet-making workshop became something much deeper.
As I chose the flowers-each one different, imperfect, and beautiful - I found myself reflecting on what blessings I want to give myself. I realized how rare it is for me to pause, to step out of my very full life, and make space just for me. I’m so often in the role of caregiver -holding space as a hairstylist/death doula, a mom, daughter, a wife - constantly offering care, comfort and blessings to everyone around me. This evening reminded me that I’m allowed to receive too. That I don’t have to be perfect to be worthy. That beauty can exist in contrast, in softness, in taking a break.
Creating this bouquet felt like a quiet act of self-value and self-compassion - a blessing I gave myself for once. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and the intention behind it. I left feeling grounded, seen, and genuinely blessed to have been part of something so meaningful.

I recently attended one of Janet’s “Blessings to Bloom” floral classes and loved it. She helped us create a beautiful arrangement while sharing a meaningful message about how our own blooming becomes a blessing to others. The class was fun, uplifting, and filled with her positive energy, and the energy of the other women in the group. I left feeling so inspired and grateful that I attended. Thank you Janet!

If you’re looking for a chance to slow down, I highly recommend a Blessings to Bloom experience.
It’s a short event, but it felt like a mini retreat, and it gave me a chance to do something special with a friend.
I loved the combination of hands-on floral design and the intentional space for mindful reflection.
It felt so good to create something with a purpose.
Seeing the smile on my special person's face when I delivered the arrangement to them was the perfect finish to a great day. - Doreen B, Red Deer
